tf2 Tf2 Map Suggestions

Since I don't know when Bonbon will be back to post this, I'll just do it now.

 

I want ideas that are more TF2 oriented than anything, since I rarely play it right now.

 

I'm not looking for variants of CSS/CSGO minigames, this is for new areas that will extend off of soccer/obs.

 

Do not post ideas for the mod (LR, warday, lead, last guard, or anything like that), this is strictly for minigames/area ideas.

The mini games that is in the mario cart server is pretty cool. Not sure of the name of it but basically it pops up a color or icon and t's have to run to that box and if they don't make it in time they die. Sorta like an old school simon says game.

Make an area where everyone has sandmans and the ball is insta kill and the regular melee attack does nothing, so everyone does like a 300 sandman :)

That's more mod sided for the 300 button, I'll talk to bonbon about it.

Since TF2 is set in the 60's/70's, I would suggest a Studio 54 disco room. WITH DISCO MUSIC NOT THAT DUBSTEP CRAP ON OTHER SERVERS.

The thing is about a disco room is that it can increase the download size of the map a lot, which is bad for new people who want to come play, if I were to add it, players would have to use their own music or bonbon could figure out a compromise with the disco command and lead doing it.

Since the TF2 Models are bigger if it's not too difficult would it be possible to scale the world a bit bigger?

Actually, that would be too much work for too little reward, as the mod relies on the coordinates we have now, it would be quite a hassle to change each of them, along with that, I'd have to redo most of the textures and rethink of of different ways to change the places enclosed by models such as big cage and hurdles.

JEOPARDY, NOT WIPEOUT (NEVER WIPEOUT), Crushgame, and the game that the ground breaks and doesn't come back.

Jeopardy can be done on beacons at the end of race but if it's really needed I can add a room in somewhere. What is crush game? Do you mean dodge where the walls fly at you? And for the last one, I'm guessing something like this http://css.gamebanana.com/maps/9496?

 

How about a small death run area?

Possibly make a deathrun area that connects soccer and pool.

Possible, but I'm not so solid on connecting soccer and pool as it might be too easy to rebel that way like if an inmate runs pool in the beginning of the round, he'll have 3 different places to go instead of the two vents. I might do it like I did in CSGO and connect OBS and soccer but instead of just deathrun connecting, it'll probably be more of the games that were suggested.

That would be an opinion based day and really doesn't need it's own room.

 

Dunno if this is a map suggestion but for a warday you should have prop hunt (aka hide and seek) where one team is props and have to go hide around the map and the other team has to go find them.

Some sort of non-lethal race section (like what Salsa "created" on CS:GO, with the timed jumping, lasers, etc.) or a Battle Slider-esque portion with the option for it to be lethal? Also, maybe a climb. I know crouch-jumping is near impossible though, which sucks.

Baseball field, homerun derby. Make a special room that transforms you into a scout w/ sandman. if you leave you get transformed back? Maybe this is better as an LR, IDK. You could also just have a "sports day" similar to pool day.

 

There's a lot of great "control room" assets since TF2 is a sort of 1950s spy-noir art style. Perhaps a bunker room? Could perhaps replace dungeon. Could also

 

CTF arena would also be really cool. Would briefcases work even though we run in Arena Mode? I'd love a control-room vs. control-room style in a TF2 doghouse. Then again like Soccer this would be very hard to keep score with Ts vs Ts

 

perhaps a rocket jump contest wall?

 

For 300 days it'd be nice to have a unique TF2-esque area. Perhaps something built with Degroot Keep assets.

 

That thing that spins the ball where you kill the side it falls on is also pretty cool and a worthy addition.

 

Soldier's and Demos can samurai-sword each other for insta-kills. It'd be cool to have that as a duel for pokemon-type day or LR (Fencing / swordfighting)

I actually really like the control room theme idea for dungeon and the degroot area for 300.

I'm guessing you're talking about roulette, which will be added in B3.

all event areas that are speed dependent should get equal speed

 

Shot 4 Shot (cheese & crackers)

 

race stalls (racing)

 

maybe even top of infirmary for fair jumps from there too.

Okay I get it that Bonbon doesn't want to make it everywhere but if you're goal is to make it so leads can ACTUALLY use these areas for certain days without giving a bias to certain classes then what the fuck are we supposed to do? It's completely unfair to do a race that a scout has a clear advantage with over a heavy. Are people supposed to die because they picked the Heavy class, or do you just want to make half the areas where you can have speed-based days impossible on TF2? This seems to be a bit more than merely having more types of days, but actually controlling the ability for certain classes to win days and not get killed. Sure there are speed boosts for gangs but the difference isn't like it is for scouts and heavies. Unless you want to change the bible so that it is fair then fine, but otherwise it's unfair and i don't know how I'm supposed to proceed as an admin

That's pretty much my solution. Part of the reason TF2 is fun is because of the different classes. Yes, If you choose scout you're going to do good in race, but what if lead does Pokemon day? You're fucked. You have 40% the health a heavy has.

i wouldn't remove race because at least you can say "If you're a scout or XYZ" as a requirement and make everyone else do OBS or something.

 

I do like the idea of at least making this more clear in the Bible if we're not going to make any adjustments. I agree this is part of the nature of TF2, I just want this policy set in some sort of stone within the Bible so that other admins can refer to it about fairness in TF2.

 

Basically a notion of "Class cannot purely determine outcome. Skill must be involved." Running is a matter of outcome via class. Pokemon you do have to aim when you hit (though health differs, i agree.)

 

We could also just say that you take your chances because you have an advantage to some days over others.
