Now I know most of the HG members know of this map, well maybe not all but some do.

 

I thought i'd just post it here for those who haven't seen it and would like to check it out :)

Description:

 

A group of humans have decided to hold up in the small isolated town of Dryfield, Nevada.

 

Hold up inside the general store, numerous motel rooms, diner and underground. There are plenty of places to survive the zombie apocalypse and plenty of secrets to explore!

 

This map requires Counter-Strike: Source and is designed for Zombie Surival.

Notes:

 

zs_dryfield_v1 is a remake of Dryfield from the classic 1999 PS2 game Parasite Eve 2 developed by SquareSoft.

 

I know this map isn't perfect, but I will continue to improve upon it as time progresses.

 

Credits go to Squaresoft for the sound used and inspiration for this remake and HG peeps for testing and giving me awesome ideas :)

played this map 2 times and it seems like people crash alot. map is broken.

 

Hmm I've played it on some pretty crappy systems and it hasn't crashed.

 

It is also well within Source's limits as the map is quite small so it shouldn't be pushing anything.

 

I have no idea what would be causing it to crash but this is the first I've heard about people crashing.

 

When you crash what is it doing? Straight to desktop or is it giving you an error.

i started lagging hard and then got hl2 stopped working. half of the team crashed

 

So you are playing the map fine, and then randomly it starts lagging and everyone crashes because if that is the situation then I can't really do much to solve it.

 

If as soon as you begin to play it starts lagging and crashes within 5 minutes, then it is my maps problem but as I said I've had other players play on this for close to 4 rounds and not crashed or lagged. I've had many positive comments on my workshop page and no one has mentioned crashing so perhaps it was a random occurrence?

 

Is it a reoccuring crash? So happens almost every time the map is played?

 

Also how many people were playing?

This happened to me as well. Both times I played the map several (20%+) members of the team crashed with "halflife2 has stopped working"

 

Otherwise, really like this map

 

It is looking like I will have to remove a lot of the props, because seeing as the map is quite small that's really the only other explanation as to why it would crash :(

Okay so I determined that it was definitely the amount of props on the map which was causing people to crash.

 

This is the newest version which has about 40% less props, also optimised a few more things and made a couple of tweaks.

 

Hopefully this version should crash a lot less then v1 lol

These to consider in the future

 

Sharp check the newest version i just posted above, the car is removed and people cannot snipe there at all.
