spawn125 Posted February 14, 2014 Share Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Hey, I know we have a few competitive teams in the community but I was thinking we could use some intermediate level teams where people could learn how to play a certain role in a competitive environment, learn new strategies and eventually have the skills necessary to play in the competitive teams or starting a new one. These teams would be open to players that have a good understanding of the basic game play mechanics, heroes, items and lanes. It would provide people with a stepping stone allowing them to progress from casual to competitive. This could provide people with a good proving ground and maybe if there is enough interest we could organise an in-house tournament to give the teams their first experience of a tournament style game play. This is only an idea and it is open for discussion but if you are interested please leave a comment and share your views. spawn125 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Share Posted February 14, 2014 Yeah pretty similar to a football, not only would it give existings teams the ability to pick from a 'practice squad' it could also lead to these 'practice squads' forming a new team. It could tie in well with the coaching idea, more experienced players could help with picking an counter picking, reviewing replays and providing feedback. We need a way for aspiring competitive players to get an introduction to the differences between competitive and pub play. spawn125 Posted February 17, 2014 Author Share Posted February 17, 2014 Thanks for posting, there seems to be a fair bit of interest in this idea so I'll be looking to get the ball rolling this week. The first official night of practice will be on Wednesday 19th of Feb @19:30 GMT hopefully everyone can make it and we can get a few team games in. With a bit of luck we can get a couple of experienced players/coaches to help with tactics, picking and coordination. If there are enough people are available we will look at getting two teams set up if not we will do our best to rotate people and ensure everyone gets a fair chance to showcase what they can do. Let me know if you can make Wednesday either in game, pm or leave a post here. I'd like to thank you again for posting and showing an interest.
