DeRedPanda
Hey everyone. I am planning on getting a new gaming PC. I am not sure if I am building, but I chose some parts anyways. What does everyone think? I attached the PC I am planing on buying and all the different parts I am planning on using for a build. I also attached the specs for the built PC. Should I build or buy? Edit- I redid some of my parts and brought the build price lower. They are uploaded after the buy PC specs. BranHorse
Build, I would stray away from biostar parts tho and that offbrand? psu. Biostar is bad cougar is good. Not off brand just not to popular. Though I do not know about this particular model, they use decent caps and quality is good. It is basically HEC but better haha.
Dynas
First off build your own computer. The experience you get from it will help you for the rest of your life with computers. Second off that iBuyPowerPC is shit for that price. On second thought it's actually a fair price. The quality of part on the other hand..... Now instead of linking every part individually please use something like pcpartpicker.com. First question here if you're going to build your own computer is what is your budget and what are you using it for?
Dynas
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/36ZtD Here's the same specs with some exceptions. It's basically the same price, upgradeable, overclockable, parts are MUCH better quality and if you need to be cheaper we can always change this. Even add an SSD for the OS for superfast boot up times (if you're willing to use an AMD processor)
Dynas
And that build I posted we could easily save you $100 by switching the i7 haswell to an i5 Ivy bridge then use that money to get an SSD, nicer case, more ram etc.
Ryan Bass
build. get i5. no point in getting i7 for gaming. Also get additional SSD HDD for better perfomance.
DeRedPanda
Build, I would stray away from biostar parts tho and that offbrand? psu. Thanks for the response. The PSU got very good reviews, so I thought it had to be fairly good. One of the reasons I am considering building over buying is the motherboard alone, I definitly want a high quality one. Do you have any recommendations with similar price/specs?

Do you have a recommendation of motherboard for the build with similar specs/price? It is definitely crucial and it is one of the reasons I am building. What I really want some input on is which motherboard to get. One with a good BIOS and similar price/specs. Also, how much does a SSD effect start times? DeRedPanda
build. get i5. no point in getting i7 for gaming. Also get additional SSD HDD for better perfomance. That was my thought exactly with the cpu. One question though. How noticeable are start times with a SSD?
Ryan Bass
Starts up in ~3 to 5sec and you can work. .doc etc files opens like you never closed them. ( Of course those files have to be on ssd hdd ). On ssd you have to keep windows, some main files you use and games you play the most. As well no big point in spending more then in 8gb ram. If you will need more you can get them, but 8gb is good for gaming right now.

DeRedPanda
What is your actual budget? For a mother board I want to keep it $130 and lower.
BranHorse
For a mother board I want to keep it $130 and lower. There are a few id recommend. Mind showing me the budget for the entire build? The case is bleh and I do not see any ram in the build.

XxwonderbredxX
Building. You get the specs and features you really want, especially when you're gaming. Oh, when you quote someone on the forums to reply to something, use the "multiQuote" feature the button next to "Quote". We don't want all of these single replies. That's what I was told.
