O boy, here we go, i just got a new iMac 27, my first mac, i never owned an apple device b4, so after talking to Homer, i decided to buy it, coming from a custom built pc guy, let me tell you tag this thing is fast and elegant, quiet, and cool. I got the i7 3.5 ghz, gtx780m 4gb, 1tb fusion drive, 16gb memory ram 1800 ddr3, and off course the 27 inch IPS display 2056 res. Mac os is elegant and fast, pictures on this thing looks amazing, I'm using UNITY 3D , blender and maya, also got steam installed and played few games, the magic mouse is small for my taste, no middle wheel, i had to download an app to set it up for middle wheel, the keyboard is facing small, but i like it now, overall I'm happy, i was gonna built a gaming rig, budget was 3k, i ended up spending 2500 on this one, honestly this thing is amazing, and the reason why I'm posting this is because i had people telling me not to do it,.......

l4d2 100+ fps, civ v 88 fps on a 2056 res, crysis3 68 all maxed out, I'm really impressed.

I still think you may have gone the wrong route on this. I run a 30" dell monitor at 2560x1600 which I can move from build to build. So while you may have only spent $2500, your monitor is not transferable to the next build.

I have a dual boot of OSx86 so I can do the necessary mac shit I have to. All of this at a cheaper price. I do not condone the purchasing of something just because it looks cool or elegant. You can have cool and elegant with a windows box if you purchase the right parts.

Agree with this. Mac's can't really be upgraded too. So once it's dead you have to go out and buy a new one..
