  1. Public Beta is now out! Come and test out my map yourself in-game! Public beta has been released on the workshop. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1353200597 The map is still decently unfinished. More shops, 3D skybox, Decals, ect to be added. Feedback is very important to me. I want to make this map really enjoyable so any feedback will help! Regarding why I took so long to get to this point is because I've recently built a new pc since my old one broke completly, I still had the map file in a usb and had to fix issues with css not working properly in hammer on my new rig.
  2. Um, hopefully I'm allowed to post this here, but. (I really want a big audience compared to the small amount who read the map development forum and I want feedback as soon as possible before I finish the map up) I've been working on a zs map for this server specifically. It's been almost an year from when I first started. I want to give you guys a chance to test it out and look around while it's still in beta. Hopefully it turns out good enough to be added on this server's map rotation. I also want to hear your guys opinions about things I'm doing in the map especially with the custom stuff that this server has. Some screenshots, questions, and extra info of the map are below, If you can answer some of the questions it will be much appreciated If for some reason you don't want to be spoiled bewarned, spoilers are below. ZS_MALLOFTHEDEAD (Zs mall map) Here's the download link to the map's public beta: https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing To run the map just place it on your gmod's map folder PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE'S ANY MISSING TEXTURES OR MODELS! Here are some questions of the map: -Do you think there's enough props around to make a winnable cade at the cading spots? If not, which spot specifically? -What type of cading doorway is the best enjoyable? Please share any extra feedback! This really helps me see what players think about my map and what I need to improve. Some long extra info on the map: -The Zombie spawn is in the fourth floor. Zombies can jump off it and land on the floors beneath. They will take lots of fall damage (possibly even die) if they fall all the way to the bottom. Zombies have an option to go through the provided hole in the floor to take a tiny amount of damage or jump down between floors to safely jump down. There is also another another option to choose a different route and take a vent down to the first floor into water safely. -I really wanted to do a few creative cading spots to really make this map feel unique and enjoyable. Some spots are kind of simple but at the cost of having no spot to fall back encouraging to cade in those creative spots. -The gamestop cading spot has a ceiling vent for bonemesh to shoot fleshballs at the cade from another room. The vent has a laser. (Until I learn a proper solution to make a small smoke particle effect) The laser basically instakills you if you don't have godmode. To counter the bonemesh I've also added a hole that you can only see/shoot from to the other room. That way you can shoot the bonemesh firing it's fleshballs to your cade. You can also cade the exit of the vent and/or place a forcefield on it to block incoming fleshballs. -There's a few secrets around the map and even a secret cading spot -I've been running low on store names so I added some player names from Hellsgamers on it. (Not applied to the public beta version yet except for one) Pm me if you want yours added somewhere. Might not add it if I can't put it into a believable shop name) -I've been slacking off getting around to finish this map up, but now I'm fully committed to complete this map.   4. No matter how much I spam E on it, no menu opens up. I checked my keybinds and it's set to +use so there should be no problem.
  5. 1. zs_arctic_cave - Fun to cade in and overall a general sense of what zs is about.
  6. Map is still a work in progress. Been slacking off and doing other things, but I'll manage to finish this by the end of the year. So here's some few notes I've made. So far I actually like how the gameplay runs on this. Basically the zombies spawn on the top floor and have the option to jump down on humans outside cades below or take alternative paths to get to different areas. Humans can play inside or outside cades depending on how good the zombies are and if they use bosses wisely. I try to give different options for different boss zombies like a room/shop for shade to grab big props or a vent for bonemesh to shoot balls through. I made a change with the overall map to hasten my progress. I closed the map up and made it an inside-only map. I'll use the 3D skybox to make a parking lot you can see through a glass door but that's pretty much it for the skybox. I've added some custom props to expand the variety of props for cades. These specific props have good gaps to use for shooting outside cades. They also look nice. As of right now I think humans have a decent advantage over zombies on this map. Though more map balance changes can happen after release. Hopefully I can get my ass working on this nonstop and get it to release.
  7. As the map is right now I don't feel like it should be added right now. Games will go by really REALLY quick in this map because it's super short. My suggestions are to make it bigger and add custom textures on the map to make it look like an actual mario map. At the moment it seems more like a small project than a map that should run on a server with 100 people. I do enjoy the idea of it though, but these are my honest opinions.

    I would prefer enhanced vanilla. I play on this server is because of all the modifications you have on the game mode and pointsaving. If the server goes back to vanilla I might see myself playing on HG zombie survival way less. My favorite time to get on the server is when there's an event going on like last year's christmas. So, I really like what you and other devs have done with this server over the years and for that reason is why I got gold to support this server. In all honestly I think the way the server is right now is good and nothing is really too overpowered. (Also bonus crates are fucking amazing)

    Gas Balls

    What if humans can blow up gas balls to do damage to zombies? This way a bonemesh would need to think of what balls to use and provides more counter play for bonemesh. Other random ideas regarding bonemesh: -Shooting bonemesh balls does damage directly to the bonemesh. -Bonemesh can set up ball traps that blow up if a player gets too close to it. (can be shot too)
  11. I'm the one who suggested zs_dev. If you want to make the map, go for it. I am still working on a different project so all I have is the spawn room down for zs_dev.
  12. I've been thinking of many ideas for zs maps. I want to list them out here incase anyone wants to use them. I might make some of these if no one wants to use them. Also feel free to add your own ideas in comments! Maps Ideas: •zs_Arcade Indoors arcade map with neon stuff and arcade machines •zs_galatic Map in outer space. Glass domes or cubes with different enviroments and cading spots. All connected together by bridges. •zs_minecraft Minecraft map. Night time map with minecraft block props to cade with. Minecraft music playing in the background. •zs_toxicwasteland Ocean of hl2 sludge with wooden bridges connected between islands. •zs_halloween Spooky haunted mansion with moving props and scripted scenes like a moving chair. Would be nice for an hg halloween event. •zs_halloween (Other idea) Spooky map with a corn field, scarecrows, and pumpkins. Gravel roads. Spooky houses and shacks. Maybe even a spooky forest where the zombies come from. •zs_dev Spawn in a simplistic office lobby only to see that a part of the wall is broken which you can slip into. Once you're out it's all orange and gray dev textures with different cading spots. This allows for some wacky cading spots you wouldn't see otherwise because you don't need to fit a theme. Also it's kinda dark but still visible. This one is my favorite ideas so far. (Actually I already started development on this map) •zs_legos Yup, map made out of legos. Lego cading spots and lego props? What else can you ask for. Still can fit a theme like the whole map is on the floor of a child's room or maybe some jungle map with caves? More ideas soon. •zs_portal A portal map in zs! Jump into portals to teleport into different places. Maybe even a cade where zombies need to go inside the portal in order to reach the cade. Add a cooperative puzzle in there to unlock a secret cading spot maybe? •obj_volcano Jungle themed map. Fight through the undead in an action packed jungle map to make your way to the top of the volcano. This might be a good idea for a ZE or Obj •zs_ForestOfFire Survive in the burning forest where everything is hot. Redish Orange lighting and redish fog? Fire entities everywhere. Could also be an obj where you have to make your way through the burning forest. •zs_toxicsewers •Common theme throughout zs maps. "Toxic" and "sewers" A map dedicated to both of those themes. Sewers overfilled by toxic sludge or toxic waters. Maybe a custom texture for water to make it bright green. •obj_space Zombies have overrun the spaceship. Find a way to escape the chaotic destruction of the spaceship. Maybe it's possible to have an area that is a "low gravity zone". For example zombies break a sealed glass window which makes that area low gravity. •zs_mario Super Mario Bros. themed map with custom textures. Music playing in the background. Can also be obj if done correctly. •zs_volcano (zs version) Volcano cave. Lava everywhere. Use lava to channel zombies to a specific path to attack the cade. For example a small narrowish road with lava on the sides. They have to cross that to attack the cade. Ehem also, "lava falls"

I am making some stores with player names on them. Note that not all names will make it in due to limited amount of stores left and if your name is too wacky to put into a shop name then I might not put it in.   14. My suggestion is to make a basement and let that be the main focus of the map in terms of gameplay. The basement should be super bloody, gory, and edgy. Really empathize on bloody as this is the "butcher's den" Maybe add some bloody water down there too or something. Like something you see in very edgy horror movies. If you do like my suggestion, I recommend making the other parts of the map less easy to cade in to focus more on the basement. Also there's many ways to go about this. Make the house seem innocent and harmless until you go into the basement.
