I think it's an improvement on the last few CoDs. Sniping and aiming as a whole takes a lot more effort now because of all the high mobility specialist abilities and thrust jumping, etc. Some guns are easy to use (ICR/Weevil//Kuda/BRM), others are less easy but more effective if you can use them well (Argus/Man o War/VMP, etc) so it gives all players a decent range of options, along with tons of different specialist weapons and abilities that do a lot of different shit (firebreak hue). Haven't played Campaign yet but the fact that you can use a campaign loadout and customize your arsenal is REALLY cool and I'll have to give it a try soon. While the Giant is still a pretty basic zombies map (good for those who just play zombies to kill things) Der Eisendrache and Shadows of Evil have a lot of things you can do and a reasonably high curve to learn and experience everything the maps have to offer.
Basically it feels like Treyarch/Activision actually tried with this one. Instead of just making another game with guns and a popular title, they tried to make the fans interested. Worked on me at least.
