TheAtrocity
It seems we need some rule changes on the official rules motd page. I’ve had some issues with paid admins as well as in-game rules. HG ZS has changed quite a bit since I started going on the server, and with me being more and more active to the point where I am on pretty much daily and handle problems when the admins aren’t present, we’re in some need to clarify, simplify, and change some rules to reflect the population changes (they haven’t been on HG very long nor do new players have experience with our servers. Here are some of the changes I had in mind (taken directly off the ZS rules topic): FOR PLAYERS: ~~RULE CHANGES/DELETIONS~~ 9. If you built a cade you cant claim the whole room/area yours.(i.e demanding players to pick their crates/turrets up to place your own.) >This “cant claim the whole room/area yours†is too ambiguous. I can easily define the space that a cader takes up as “an area†(i.e. the entire doorway). I think we should take this rule out for numerous reasons. 1) Caders only have so many nails to prop claim. We also only have X amount of time to build a cade. 2) “Do NOT nail props down for no reason if you do not have any intention to build an actual barricade.†(Rule 7) <expand to say “or if you do not have time to build cade(s) using MOST of the props†or something to that effect. >Also, there is no point in caders repeatedly cading if they’re getting next to nothing in points. Many caders I know love cading more than shooting zombies (I can personally testify), but the plain truth is that many times, we will not be able to cade. We need points. There IS such a thing as “Cader Courtesyâ€, and I firmly think we should buff rules regarding cades to help caders. (It should be ok to build a fine cade and say “Well, since I built this cade, I ‘claim’ the spot for my either turret or arsenal crate or resupply boxâ€. 13. Do not claim every prop in the room. >It’s plainly a bad rule. Again, if you’re not going to use MOST of the props “claimed†by you to build an actual cade, why spend the extra points on nails? That will result in PREVENTING other people from cading which is against the rules. Also, many maps have few props in which they pretty much claim ALL the props in order to cade. Please remove entirely. ~~RULE ADDITIONS~~ >Something to help out caders pls. For Admins (taken directly off the ZS rules topic): 2. Admins MUST warn a wrongdoer in ADMIN chat before punishing (except for hackers). >Please change it so that admins MUST follow the warning>kick>ban SPECIFICALLY. I am getting tired of paid admins who blatantly abuse this and deny ANY wrongdoing AS WELL AS giving out MORE punishment when a legitimate conversation begins to ask why the said admin broke the rules. (The said admin also will not allow questions regarding the punishment when the admin has punished the player in the wrong manner, frequently and adamantly repeating “Stopâ€, “Drop itâ€, etc.) >Although this should not be included in the rules change section, I hope the admins will follow Rule 9: “Use your powers to keep the server fun.†I hope they take it as not being (and I quote from the server population) “Hitlerâ€. Let me stress: the server is NOT fun when an admin is intolerant and sticks to the rules like superglue. Here is an example: You probably wouldn’t even WARN a player who is clearly just poking fun at a friend or fellow teammate or even another fellow player when they reply with the same text for 4 lines. Clearly, this is classified as “spam†and rightfully so. However, they only did it ONCE in a VERY VERY LONG while and the situation(s) were forgiving for the “spamâ€. Everyone does it. “Lenny Face†as a reply for 4 lines to, say, someone dying a stupid death. 3 lines of “spamâ€. If you’re going to mute/warn someone for that, you’re not really helping the server at being “funâ€, especially if the player did not mean “spam†and they don’t do it often at all. So let me stress: admins and mods are here to CLEAR UP problems. 4 lines of the same text once a year is not a problem causer. 100 lines of the same text in caps sure is. >I’d also like to stress the fact that (since a paid admin whom I will not name has used this countless times, to my annoyance) HG members ARE EQUAL IN RIGHT IN EVERY WAY TO ALL PLAYERS IN HG ZS. We are in no way superior. You CANNOT say “Since you are a member, you should know the rules more than others†then proceed to break admin rules. That is biased and unfair. When playing on ANY HG server, ALL PLAYERS are expected to follow the rules, 0 exceptions. We are all equal and we are all players. Being an HG member or not has nothing to do with anything rule-wise. Everyone “breaks†the rules at some point. Even admins. Even good ones. But you know what? That’s not causing problems. I’m talking about really minor rules like “spamming†4 lines of text. I’m talking very minor ‘problems’ that in NO way cause ANY problems. I quote Frozen: “Let it goâ€. Admins and mods are here to CLEAR UP problems.
Kevinyock
I would like to see clarification about the skycade because Web told everyone who were skycading that they shouldn't repair the skycade but someone else claim that skycade is illegal. Webflashing
I would like to see clarification about the skycade because Web told everyone who were skycading that they shouldn't repair the skycade but someone else claim that skycade is illegal. You mean stand on props on purpose and repair them, which is some form of point exploit.
TheAtrocity
From my understanding, skycading is very legal and all good (as long as not an exploit). However, repairing props that are being damaged as players stand on them is considered a point exploit and therefore illegal. Matt Marche
I firmly think we should buff rules LMAO Speaking seriously though... "AS WELL AS giving out MORE punishment when a legitimate conversation begins to ask why the said admin broke the rules." Biggest complaint by far, also the fact that you can't try to debate a point without getting in trouble for "arguing"
Space Rash
I agree! We need a few new rules and some to be adjusted.

Personally, if it were me, I'd welcome the rule-breaker to add me on steam so we can "discuss" the issue(s) and get beef cleared up. *clap clap clap* no one deserves to be a mod more than you. I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not? Either way, this has no relevance to whether or not I should be mod.
fen Ra
adamantly repeating “Stopâ€, “Drop itâ€, etc. Yes it's really pathetic when that happens.

However, i actually don't think taking away the ability to re move another's nails is a bad idea. I'm sick of trolls unnailing and I'd rather be in a shit cade than a bunch of loose props. I appreciate the compliment though. I think we can both say we're tired of trolls
JJK
Although I agree that people that make the cade and keep their team alive should get some extra rewards, however some people take advantage of that situation and try to get all the points and bossing players around and demanding free ammo etc.
fen Ra
Have most damage to own nails at the start of wave 5 (or most barricade assistance) = +1 cading prestige. Tier 3 caders: 100 points or more Tier 2 caders: 50 points or more Tier 1 caders: 10 points or more (Optional): SMALL esthetic item to visually signal the player's cading tier. This can be a golden hammer for example.
TheAtrocity
hey I kinda like you... Although I agree that people that make the cade and keep their team alive should get some extra rewards, however some people take advantage of that situation and try to get all the points and bossing players around and demanding free ammo etc. Based on my personal gameplay data, most, if not all of our servers higher experienced caders don't even care for points as we have far too much. Yes, I concede to the point that some may boss other players around. we do this to actually get something done. Its exremely rare for a cader to demand all the turrets, arsenals, and resupplies. The true point exploiters are those who do not intend to cade and yet set down the arsenal, turret, resupply in a room before a cader starts at all. However I think we're all satisfied with either the arsenal or turret in the cade as we DO need to make some amount of points. The main abusers, I suspect, are the less experienced caders, trolls. The caders also deal with questionable players depicted in Fen's sig... We don't really need extra rewards, we just want: 1) Prospective new and less experienced caders to learn 2) Rules that help mitigate trolls/make cading easier I can personally attest that I enjoy cading. Many of my peers can agree with me: we love ZS because cading is fun. We only need to grab some points with the arsenal OR turret.
