Updated MotD

I just wanted to say that all of the updates to the MotD are great and really benefit the game...

except one that I think may cause problems.

The change that says you cannot force people to use their mics, I understand what we are getting at but I know that it can be taken as opinion days are not allowed. I am just looking for clarification and possibly an addition saying something like "T's who accept opinionated days can refuse to speak at own risk."

That way, Ts who accept opinionated days can't complain to admins that lead cannot force them to talk or something.

It's already a given that T's who do not speak during an opinionated day are doing so at their own risks if they accept it (in almost all cases killed). For things like American Idol day, where a mic is required to participate, Ts are given an option to not participate if they don't have a microphone. Other things like Joke Day and such, a mic isn't required. It would be nice if the T's would let us know how they will be answering the questions before we ask them.

It may be generally known by people who play normally, but technically by the rules we have now CTs cannot force Ts to play an opinionated game involving using their mic, so it is a freekill. I'm just trying to help clear up the technicalities and loopholes, I'm not saying that it isn't already known.

Ok, so I have read the updated MOTD. I want to know what is "Keep your traps to a minimum." So we're not allowed to trap people on the way to a game anymore? That takes half the fun out of jailbreak, as a CT and as a T. It keeps the server lively and separates those who listen from those who do not. So if I say, "All Ts, when cell doors open and I say "Go directly to kitchen", you will go and bake me a cake. I want this cake to be blah blah blah. All Ts, go bake me a cake." And kill 3/4 out the terrorists that leave their cells, that is not "Keep your traps to a minimum" because people failed to hear the correct phrase? WHERE is the line drawn?

That is a really good question, because we only have about 5 mins to get to LR, and the last 1/4 of the Ts that are left are the smart ones who will bring the timer down to 1-1:30 before LR; and, even then it can run out dies to to many CTs still alive.

Gah you damn jailbreak lawyers, after some examination it will be better worded

I really appreciate the keep traps to a minimum, though. Finally gives me a legitimate reason to stop leads from incessantly trapping Ts. I don't mind one or two every once in a while, but when it is every round it just makes the game less fun for the 10 Ts that die instantly.

what about eliminating the need for traps, and just make them do a trap day.. a day dedicated to traps so they dont do it every round

Like a specific day that is designated for traps, similar to maybe simon says/opinion day and such? I kind of like this idea if you are being serious.

The only thing, if indeed you are being serious, is that giving a "Tarp Day" eliminates the very idea of tarping. If you tell someone they are going to be tarped, well then of course the tarp is not going to work. The idea of tarping is to get the Ts down to a manageable size so that 2 people who follow orders, listen carefully, and do not rebel get to have a Last Request.

Traps are not fun and require prior play of our server. I have seen you do tarps for the first 3 mins of a game. It went something like this. "When i say the cell doors are open take one step inside your cell. Go. Kill ten. Open the cell doors. Kill 5. The cells are open. (brag about giant internet dick) kill 5 more outside their cell. When i say go jump on your top bunk. Go Kill 5 more. How is that fun? This is why the rule is in place and its a good thing for everyone. Would you want to play with that everyday? I dont think so, also with the huge amount of new people we want them to stay even after their old servers are fixed. :) Im glad this is in the motd and i think your Internet penis will be fine killing them in diff ways

You gotta do something at the beginning of the round.

1) helps T's STFU and actually listen. God i hate spam constantly.

2) skims off the afk/tards

3) CT's are usually retarded so they need extra help to listen

4) While your getting prepared you can give them something to listen for (getting usp cell eyed out etc)

Tarps are actually pretty necessary IMHO. Keeping them to a minimum is ok. But shit, why not just start everyday with simon says?
