If you have a taser in your hand you lose critical time to even consider drawing your pistol when hostiles come from the shadows. I'd rather have a pistol out and ready. Are you suggesting that police officers just walk around everywhere with their pistol out in their hand? The Taser is not a substitute for a gun. If you are facing a possible threat to life or limb of yourself or another, that is what a firearm is for. It is NOT for intimidation or for anything else. Taser simply covers the "anything else."
