hey whats going on guys, just recently joined the dual monitor master race and have a few questions.

1. is it possible to extend the taskbar to both screens?

2. Is it possible to click on something in my right monitor without alt tabbing the game in my left monitor (this is my biggest problem, i'd like to talk and help you guys while playing games without it forcing to alt tab me)

3. And if terry is a taco then does that make him mexican too?

1. Weeman, are you running Windows XP, Vista or Seven? If you are running, Windows XP... most drivers you download will support "Span" modes... that's what you need to do for Windows XP. As per Vista and Seven, they have stripped that functionality out of (WDDM) the driver and it doesn't work as easily anymore. UltraMon is one (paid solution) that you can use.

If you have an nvidia card, make sure you have nVidia Surround set up =] (http://www.nvidia.com/object/3DV_System_Requirements_Surround_Technology.html)

If you have an ATI card (HD5500+), you can find out whether you video card supports EyeFinity (for instance http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1461837)

THis is what ATI wrote

ATI Eyefinity technology is supported by graphics cards in the ATI Radeon™ HD 5400 series and higher. These cards can support up to six monitors (depending on the model), subject to the following restrictions:

• A maximum of 2 legacy monitors (VGA, DVI or HDMI) can be enabled simultaneously, provided that each monitor is connected either directly or via a “passive” DisplayPort™ adapter/dongle. “Passive” adapters/dongles will NOT support more than 2 legacy monitors.

• To enable support for more than 2 monitors, “active” DisplayPort™ adapters/dongles are required (or monitors with direct DisplayPort™ connectivity must be used).

• Approved “active” adapters have no general connectivity restrictions with ATI Eyefinity technology.[/Quote]

For the taskbar on multiple monitors, I use Display Fusion at work, and Ultramon at home. They each have their advantages. Display Fusion gets updated more. They both add separate task bars to each monitor, giving you the option to "split" the programs that display on the taskbar to the relevant monitor. Very helpful when you have 30 things open at the same time...like me.

There is also a ghetto taskbar thingy called multimon...I'd avoid it like the plague.

Display Fusion: http://www.displayfusion.com/

Ultramon: http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/

Multimon: http://www.mediachance.com/free/multimon.htm <=== Gay, don't use it.

To not have to alt tab (you still will alt tab, just won't minimize the game) you have to run in windowed mode (suggest windowed borderless).
