widdizzles
Ok, so today I want to buy a new desktop or a really good laptop. Reasons are because well my sound doesn't work on this computer and its just overall shitty windows xp. I'm willing to spend $1,000 on a computer, but the computer must be at least $700. BranHorse
have you thought about building your pc? get way more bang for your buck and its really fun. if not http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220996 if you want a laptop desktop wise just look for something with a gpu better then a 5770 and a quad cpu..all the major desktop brands are kinda the same with there build wise, lenovo is becoming one of my favorites but can be pricey. I can't build computers... also.. How good is that laptop? I noticed it was an i7. Could it run things like GTA or battlefield without me having to buy excess stuff. BranHorse
why cant you if you dont mind me asking? well you are going to be able to runt hose games just dont expect to do it at full AA and max settings if you want that in a laptop your going to need to spend a lot more cash also when you get a laptop there is no messing with the hardware. as in no gpu upgrades etc now if you buy a desktop or build your own (just do it"nike symbol here") you can upgrade whatever you want later down the road

Oh I thought building your own computer literally meant you built EVERYTHING, not just putting stuff together. I thought you had to buy parts and make your own motherboard and shit. It is very simple to do and im willing to help you if you would like. I can list some suggestions within your 700-1000 range.

If you plan on purchasing a copy of Windows 7 buy the OEM version.

Cal45
Bud, go to http://www.newegg.com and get all your stuff there. You can look at different parts and they will have user ratings and reviews. Also for a lot of them, it will give you a window on the bottom saying something like "people who bought this also bought...." and give you some compatible parts. They also have these cool combo deals so you can search for CPU and MOBO combos if you are unsure which MOBO to get.

EVerything should be compatible. I do suggest upgrading to the HAF932 case if you can spare the few extra bucks. It makes everything a lot easier considering how big it is. Also I didnt know if you needed a sound card.

Cal45
Was going to say the same thing what about the mother board? @cal is it compatible with the rest though? Heatsinks are pretty much one size fits all. That case is pretty big and I would assume it can fit in there.
