I was making soup for lunch and had my phone on my shoulder. Damn thing slipped right in. Worked later after I rinsed it with water and let it run in the dryer inside a towel for about 30 minutes.

Damn thing still smells like dog though.

This happened to my only two phones, here are the stories:

For my first phone, I left it in my pants and my mom thought I had taken it out so she put it in the washer. She found it in there and showed me my mistake. My phone couldn't turn on and was really hot. I got rid of it and got my second phone.

For my second phone, I was walking home in the rain. I took out my phone to check the news when I dropped it. The battery protector fell off and landed in a puddle. I picked it up, dried it and put it back. I turned on my phone and it was still working really well, even today.

had my phone in my gym bag beside some water bottle while I was doing "GTL";An the condensation from the bottle soaked my phone. I did some research and found out if you put it in "dry rice" it would fix it. It did.

Good to know! I put it in some dry rice as soon as i noticed it was in my pocket :P It absorbs the humidity...you know like those silica packages in everything in a box. I might as well check on it now, it's been in rice for 3 days.

My phones have ate it in multiple ways.

3.(iphone original) dropped into a whiskey coke. was at the bar so I wasnt anywhere near any rice. Took it home put it in some rice and set it in my car for 2 days all fine but the top 1/4 of screen that got submerged. (waited 2 weeks upgrade time)

4. Iphone 3g checking facebook while puking at party toilet bowl dive SCORE! Phone died took and little white sticker. Cut it into a small circle put it down the earbud jack covering up the water damage mark. Se\ent it in saying update made it die bam new phone.
