LazaHorse
I was making soup for lunch and had my phone on my shoulder. Damn thing slipped right in. Worked later after I rinsed it with water and let it run in the dryer inside a towel for about 30 minutes. Damn thing still smells like dog though. FDR
This happened to my only two phones, here are the stories: For my first phone, I left it in my pants and my mom thought I had taken it out so she put it in the washer. She found it in there and showed me my mistake. My phone couldn't turn on and was really hot. I got rid of it and got my second phone. For my second phone, I was walking home in the rain. I took out my phone to check the news when I dropped it. The battery protector fell off and landed in a puddle. I picked it up, dried it and put it back. I turned on my phone and it was still working really well, even today. Edited July 25, 2011 by FDR Grammar errors

Isaac
had my phone in my gym bag beside some water bottle while I was doing "GTL";An the condensation from the bottle soaked my phone. I did some research and found out if you put it in "dry rice" it would fix it. It did.

I put it in some dry rice as soon as i noticed it was in my pocket It absorbs the humidity...you know like those silica packages in everything in a box. I might as well check on it now, it's been in rice for 3 days.

DR.OBVIOUS
Yes the rice did work and seeing as I was only in the water for like 5 seconds and than went in the sun to dry, not the worst that can happen xD

Rudabaga
I've seen several phones be fine after being put in rice. You shouldn't need a new one.
