All I did was database maintenance for vBulletin.

Orphaned posts and threads aren't viewable and thus don't count towards your actual post count. Unfortunately vbulletin is a pain in the butt for some respects and won't keep update post count for these.

I don't really see whats the big deal with it, seeing as post counts can be edited. No I'm not editing your post counts. The next time I run database maintenance on vbulletin (assuming we haven't moved) will be in about 3-4 months.

Everyone got hit by this maintenance.

I'm not sure if you guys realise this but, it really doesn't matter at the end of the day.

The quality of the posts matter more than the quantity.

There are a few reasons why posts and threads get orphaed:

1. user gets deleted from vbulletin

2. if posts and threads are moved to a non-existent forum (E.g. if a forum gets deleted with threads in it)

they are no longer considered valid (just like we delete invalid posts).

I'm sorry this caused a lot of trouble. My intentions were to clean up the forums and ensure we have will always have a healthy database.

It seems to me that the community feels despondent over loss of posts therefore I do apologise to all who lost too many.

The loss of posts from my post count has hurt me and i'm considering leaving HG, since the posts were the only things keeping me here.
