Found via google: You know what, totally ignore that, I found an answer after a bit of a search, so someone on the facepunch forum said to just rename the garrysmod folder (under your user name in steam dir) to garrysmodold... or delete it i guess, that fixed it, even though I did a fresh install previously! weird!
