Got a speeding ticket today. My insurance card just expired (new one probably sitting on my dresser), so got a ticket for that too.

Take insurance papers to the clerk of court showing you were covered on that date. They will remove that ticket. I've had to do the same thing in Florida before.

As for the speeding ticket, there is something you can do about it, but you risk the chance of pissing the judge off. You can contest it and ask for the calibration logs. Florida requires officers to calibrate their radar at the start of every shift. Most don't and it is electronically logged each time they do for this purpose. If it wasn't calibrated, ticket is dropped. If it was calibrated, judge is pissed and you get the maximum fine. Worth a shot if it's worth it to you.

Yeah, I know that the insurance ticket will be dropped. Just the hassle of having to go to the clerk of courts to prove that I have insurance.

As far as the ticket for speeding. I'll be paying the fine. I'm not going to risk paying $500 plus court costs when the ticket is $281. That, and I'd have to take off work. Just not worth it.

I was driving 85 in a 65...I deserved the ticket. The cop didn't have to be a dick about it though. I was nothing but forthcoming and polite the entire fucking time.

Could be because he was working a Sunday. Could also be the person he had pulled over was a dick and the cop took it out on you. Lol. Never know with those types of things. I am actually surprised it was that low being in Florida. Those troopers are assholes down there.
