I think we can start doing official filming this week, will keep you all updated <3 EDIT 05/31/2013, 3:26pm EST I think the movie will be done in GMOD only because I see that i can had breathable models in the newest GMOD as well as do my faceposer scenes there. Also reinstalled to windows XP on another partition and I think now things will run more smoothly. I am going to keep the CSS server up until the month ends and set up a GMOD server in leiu of the current filming server. For now that server will serve as test grounds to vamp out to GMOD. EDIT 05/29/2013, 8:52am EST Jesus Christ I am so tired, editing takes so much time, more than I thought. Anyways, we did a test reel today of what the reporter cam would like like in the final footage. The film was shot on the private server with the actors just eating shit. Turned out fun but I spent a lot of time adding things like police sirens, camera focusing, and overlays in After Effects. The rendering took a while too because my computer kept shutting off halfway through the render. I had to turn down my CPU clocks from 3.2 to 2.8 and have a portable room fan facing my computer case at full blast to keep the temperatures stable. After this I had the idea to start testing out the noclip speed in the server. With the help of Killjoy, we made an interesting little movie and from 5:00am roughly to about 8:30am I finished the editing and am now going to upload to youtube and post here. This will be the idea of the majority of filming, not from the reporter view as the last 2 videos have been those test reels. Also going to figure out how to organize voice recordings with in-game animations so that workflow is consistent. So happy to be done with this last test reel, a lot more time went into it because of all the multiple scenes and re-takes with killjoy. Will update again when I get some rest since Ive been awake from 4:00pm the previous day (May 28th). Old blog posts: EDIT 05/28/2013, 4:20am EST Haha just finished uploading a blooper reel of some of the main characters eating shit in the server. Things are picking up and I'll be damned if I can just say that blooper reel is the jailbreak movie, all said and done...just kidding. I am about halfway done writing the script for the reporter section for the first episode. I am thinking each episode will run about 7-9 minutes in length with about 10 episodes per season depending on how the drama unfolds. I also added a link to the screenplay which will be updated as I write a major section to keep the cast aware of where filming is heading. I am thinking filming will begin officially once the script is done and I can start drawing up story boards and an efficient way of workflow once I see how big of a challenge it will be do get everything in my head down onto the screen. Also revised the thread a little to make each section easier to read and added my showcase of previous machinima related work I have done. Will update again. EDIT 05/27/2013, 4:05pm EST Just woke up, ugh tired as shit. Going to start writing down the rough script for episode 1 today. I realized I need to get a gmod server as well for filming but it won't be a problem. Probably a 10 man because I don't need that many slots, this would just be for propping and the film crew. Also had a few dreams about how to unravel the first scene. Going to try and get this thread news posted to get some more attention for the movie, still have a bunch of actors needed for slots. EDIT 05/27/2013, 3:14am EST Things seem to be rolling together, working on getting a teamspeak channel for the film crew as well as more members to play lead parts, going to start consolidating a script down for the first episode. There seems to be a good following of having aQ as a main antagonist of the story will start to run down an idea of episodes soon. I also like the corruption of a warden and the main character of a terrorist. If you have seen that movie "felon" it might add tips to what we can pull off. Except kru kru Well its going to be similar to leet world in the episodic flow of things but I have ideas about the birth of aQ and how they become the main antagonist of the story with their leader. Also, in one of the episodes a scientist later recruited to aQ develops a dirty bomb that will kill one of the main CT characters and help aid in the final episode where aQ finally escapes the jail albeit at the climax of another few main characters being killed in the escape. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
