Promo To Council?

So ya know how we have dA and dL promotions often enough? even uM sometimes. I've yet to see a promotion to council. obviously it takes alot of work and dedication, but what do you look for when promoting to Council? Of course I am not looking to be a council member -__-, I'm just curious as to what it takes to be one, as I haven't seen a new one in my time here

 

Council+ if possible, maybe uM

From experience,

It's basically the same as getting other leadership ranks. You need to actually stand out in the community (and no, donations is not enough, no giving your time to deal with ban reports and abuse reports isn't enough) and be willing to do alot in whatever respects.

 

From observation,

Same as experience except if you have a stronger connection with the current leadership and are in good terms with them. That seems to augment your chances. Doesn't guarantee it though.

 

Mind you being Council (add active) isn't all fun in games, there is ALOT of associativity and dissociativity from the community you have to take.

Things like

1. Not taking sides in a conversation (although that would be a lazy way out)

2. Be willing to forgo fun for fodder

3. Listen to the community

are all appropriate things to do and a characteristic of someone who is capable of being Council.

So in a sense, getting Council is not meant to be easy but necessarily difficult.

Well first it’s the questions if we need more members in Council or not. Then what we look for is a member with the passion to grow the community as a whole and never stop, the dedication and time capable to be online frequently to do so, and proven good decision skills are a must. Council is a group that each person trusts one another’s decision making when speaking on behalf of head-of-leadership for the community as a whole. We only look at Management members as candidates; they have gained experience through each rank within the community and earned the merits required. When it’s decided to look for another addition to the Council group, we will hand pick specific recommendations, discuss and vote. Only if the decision is unanimous will it be taken to the next step.
