all Guard Lock For X Rounds/hours (Suggestion/opinion)

So this is more of a feeler suggestion to see how everyone else that plays JB would consider this script possibly being implemented, not sure if it has been discussed before but I couldn't find it here:

"A **New Player** cannot join Guards/Ct unless they have played X rounds/hour(s) as a Prisoner/T"

**(New player meaning brand new IP/Steam ID to a JB server)

Now I have my own two sides to the argument, here we go.

FOR THIS:

1. New players get to learn the rules for a period of time so that when they do join guards, they understand the rules and are less likely to freekill and derp (Baiting in particular)

2. Evens out guards who know how to handle a ratio of T's when default ratio is 1 guard to 2 prisoners.

3. (counter to against) many regulars play on our JB maps that situation 1. would be seldom

4. Less Ban reports to deal with

Noobs learn by trial and error and tlist

AGAINST THIS:

1. In a situation when there are a lot of new players and no regulars on, nobody could join CT and the rounds would not carry forward.

2. Players that spend so much time on T (X amount) and not being given the chance to join guard may find other JB servers where they can play as guard without restriction.

I can see the pro's and cons to it on my end but was wondering, what's are your guys' opinion on something along these lines? Could it be practical and work?

Post your for/against and Ill add it to this first thread if its realistic

I think you may have answered your own thought as to where this idea is going to go.

Do the cons outweigh the pro's though?

so much work for such a simple thing

just tlock or tlist derps and tell them to type rules

JB isnt so hard where we need a x hours system

I remember this being brought up the longest of times ago, then being shot down. Either way I still actually support the idea. Here's a scenario:

Guy 1 Joins the server for the first time

Guy 1 Joins CT, has never played jailbreak before.

Guy 1 goes killing Ts cell to cell because, huh, the point of counter strike source on CT is to kill Ts and prevent them from planting the bomb rite?!1!1

Guy 2 drops the tlist hammer on him, perm tlist for mass freekilling.

Guy 1 doesn't know why he's tlisted, or how to appeal this, There are 2 possible outcomes to this:

1: Guy 1 ragequits and leaves the server forever

2: Guy 1 gets told by a nice admin (highly unlikely since admins are usually assholes :D) that he can go to the forums to appeal his ban, so he goes to the forums and looks at his ban.

Now, if Guy 1 went with option 2, then there are more possible outcomes to this.

1: Guy 1 looks at his tlist... PERMA?! He ragequits and leaves the server forever

2: Guy 1 looks at his tlist. He decides to create an account to appeal. He's 7 and doesn't know his postal code so he ragequits and leaves the server forever.

3: Guy 1 looks at his tlist. He decides to create an account to appeal. He finishes creating an account and asks nicely on the tlist "Hey I'm new here and didn't know what was going on, now that I know what I did wrong, may I get untlisted?"

Admin 1 says "sure brah, lemme reduce it to 2 months to give you some time to learn."

If guy 1 chose option 3, everyone goes on their fine and dandy ways and happily ever after, etc etc.

Now, as to why I support this:

It would seem to actually IMPROVE the player base of our server. Note how many times the options came up "Guy 1 ragequits and leaves forever". By automatically keeping people off CTs for a while when they first join the server, this prevents them from doing something stupid that would get them permanently tlisted, thus relieving them of the many options to "ragequit and leave the server forever".

Now, when I first started playing the server a while ago, I got tlisted for shooting a stack, and essentially mass freekilling (I was not familiar with the rules then). I guess luckily for me, this was before they were handing out perm tlists for mass freekilling. Also luckily for me, this was on the old HG bans system, so you won't find it on my record. Now I was very close to going the "ragequit and leave the server forever" route. Luckily for me, I didn't and now I'm a friggin member in HG.

What I'm trying to say here, is that by simply keeping these people off CT for a while, we're actually giving them a chance. A chance to learn how to play and stay off the tlist. PERP has a system in place that prevents you from having certain jobs until you've played X amount of hours, why can't we apply that to JB?

Also, I'm pretty sure there's ALWAYS people on the server that have played for at least 24 hours, even very late at night. At least on CS:S.
