I think it was because it was the first one that I watched a couple episode when I was younger, but never got into it. However, when I matured a bit and my taste in entertainment changed I realized I was just a stupid kid who didn't know what a good show was. Depends on what language you say it and where you say it, pretty much. Cartoons and animation are the same thing but in the English language, the word "anime" has become used to describe a type of animation that originates exclusively from Japan. In Japan, they just refer to cartoons and anime as animation. And manga is also a *style of art that comes from Japan* but in the form of comic books/graphic novels.
