I didn't purchase anything the previous round as I was a zombie. So I have somehow lost basically all of my points. That's probably it. The Katana card is Uncommon, so they're more expensive than Common cards -- pricing to the thousands easily. Maybe you upgraded the card accidentally and was negative in profit on the map you upgraded on, so that's probably why you were left with much less than your total points.
