Hello from CEVO!

Recommended Posts

Hello all! For those who do not know me, I'm CEVO|Celone, a head official in the CEVO Gaming League. I've worked for CEVO for almost seven years now and have dedicated a lot of my time to improving the competitive communities accross all the games I'm in charge off. My current responsibilities include CS CZ, CS 1.6, and CSS.

I was drawn to this community by a friend after noticing the Hellsgamers team competing in CEVO. I used to be a part of a couple public communities myself back in the day and those are some of my fondest memories. I'm hoping to become a regular poster here and I also hope to be able to promote my tournaments and seasons here with the community a little bit while offering support to anyone that needs it.

If any of you are wondering what or who CEVO is, check out the website at http://www.cevo.com. Anything beyond that, let me get clearance from the ops first before I make a CEVO thread. My intention is not to advertise, but to enlighten.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, congrats to the Hellsgamer's competitive team for earning a record of 10-10 in CEVO Main this past season. For those who do not understand leagues, a regular season is 16 matches, so these guys finished out the regular season and made it all the way to the fourth round in playoffs. That's a great job guys, best of luck in the Professional Division of the Pro-Am #2 tournament!

Clearly unaware of what advertising is...

but welcome none the less.

Haha nice. I always throw in the tidbit about not being here to advertise because I swear I've been boo'ed off of forums before where I didn't advertise, but the possibility that I might was not welcomed.

CEVO is far from dead sir. Infact, CEVO has never been close to the point of dead. We innovate.

A few examples of how we do that:

http://geforce.cevo.com/event/geforce-starcraft-2-pro-am/

http://www.alienwarearena.com/

http://www.ttesportschallenge.com/

http://www.cevo.com/

Every single site I just listed is owned/operated by CEVO. We built them, we maintain them, we run the events on them. Which may cause the question of why not just put it on cevo.com? Sponsor preference. Sponsors will pay big moolah these days to get mass product placement/promotion with some of the largest competitive games.

So if that is true, why is CSS and CS still on cevo.com? Both games are nothing competitively on the international scale as games like Starcraft 2 and Heroes of Newerth. A Sponsor hoping to get their new line of esports equipment sold through advertising is not going to target CS 1.6 gamers or CSS gamers. Those individuals are now the minority in competitive esports.

Innovation sir. If you aren't moving forward, you don't exist. Hence why a number of other leagues still dependent on games like 1.6, CSS, and TF2 are having issues surviving the movement of gamers to SC2, COD, HON, LOL, BF3, etc.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone! Feel free to visit me in the CEVO Support Ventrilo any evening Monday - Thursday to say hi. I'm almost always around and available and just reference who you are on these forums. I'm very bad with names, so it will take me a while to remember you, just to warn you lol.
