5 down 1 up is still a good connection (i get 1.5 down .4 up), and the $300 construction fee can be paid off monthly. Honestly if google has the resources, or should I say when, they will be the new ISP monopoly. Though thats not something to be afraid of, if anything it's something to look forward to. I cannot wait personally, and anyone who hates google will most likely be hated by the entire internet.

yeah, it's a decent connection maybe for areas that have limited access already.

However to be fair, there are ALOT of concerns about Google, mostly privacy driven issues and some odds and ends.

Hating Google isn't necessarily right, it however isn't all misguided.

With Fios, i'm paying $300 a month, for tv phone and (85 mbps down/65 mbps up) internet. With Google, i'd be paying 120 a month and get 1 gbps internet and tv. Fuck yes i'm switching!!! it's faster and cheaper, i'll just use my cell as a home phone.

No, I like FiOS and Fiber doesn't have MSNBC or HBO

it has MSNBC just not HBO.

its worth giving up HBO for 1gbps internet IMO because you can just torrent the shows that are on hbo with your fast ass internet lol.
