Need An Upgrade

Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX+

Processor: Pentium® Dual-Core CPU E2210 @ 2.20 GHz

RAM: 3GB

Plus my power supply: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3843505&CatId=1079

So, I'm not really good with this type of stuff, and I kinda want an upgrade on some things.

My config in CSS (netcode's CFG) plus my GUI gives me about 60-80 fps, when I'm 10manning.

But when I'm in something like jailbreak, my FPS is terrible.

Same with WarZ for example, I'm near 3-4 people, fps is fine. I go somewhere with a lot of people, 10-20 fps...

My graphics card is fine (so I assume) so I want something that'll make it a little bitter. (i.e more ram or a better processor)

(don't have a bunch of money to spend, 100-150$.) If it's above that, whatever you think will make it better just post it. I'll eventually get money for it.

Actually the upgrading the graphics card will give a more significant boost than upgrading the ram or the processor. The only problem is power, could you please post your power supply's maximum wattage so I can give you a good recommendation on a graphics card. Also could you post the model # and brand of your computer so I can see what upgrades it can support.

That's not realy true, he might get a higher maximum fps, but in cpu intensive areas/games he will still drop to 10-20 fps. It's called a bottleneck.

Yes I know what a bottleneck is but he would get the most fps boost with a gpu and as his budget isn't big enough for a gpu and cpu a gpu upgrade is the best choice. Also the games he said he gets slow performance on are not particularly cpu intensive games.

Considering you have a 775 socket, you could upgrade to http://www.amazon.com/Intel-E7500-Processor-Socket-LGA775/dp/B001OVBXIC%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJM4UVF4RQCUWVBQA%26tag%3Dcpubenchmark-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB001OVBXIC or http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Q8400-Processor-Socket-LGA775/dp/B002654FQM%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJM4UVF4RQCUWVBQA%26tag%3Dcpubenchmark-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB002654FQM, the 2nd one (quad core) will be a significant performance increase for you.

Source games are very CPU intensive, considering his video card is really good, the bottle neck he is getting is horrible. Every game is CPU intensive to some point, and if you have an older CPU like his, you'll need to upgrade to get the most out of your video card too.

Will my power supply be fine for this type of CPU? (again, I'm a noob with this)

I'll most likely go with the second one, but I wanna make sure I don't waste my money on getting this and it turns out it doesn't help at all, so I really want to make sure it's going to help.

If anyone has any opinions on what he suggested, lemme know, just so I know what I'm buying.

Honestly the gpu has plenty of power for source games, hell my 8800gt could run bf3. A cpu would improve your performance by a load. Wookie if you don't know what you're talking about please don't post false information.

Mau5 has got it.

To reiterate: A new CPU will definitely boost your processing power and performance under load.

I would also definitely consider replacing that PSU as you begin to upgrade, as it is a timebomb.

I posted stuff on this topic before he updated his post to show what parts he already had existing in his PC so I did not know what parts he had in his computer. If you would have read the posts before telling someone they didn't know what they were talking about you would know that I didn't have all the information you have now so my recommendations could not be as thorough as yours are now. Seeing the updated specs for your PC however I do agree with the other people posting on this topic although I would recommend this CPU as it is the best processor you can get that is compatible with your PC.

For that price he would be better off just getting a new mobo + cpu.

He linked an auction on ebay that went for $140. Seriously dude, please just stop haha. He didn't update his post, so I don't understand how you didn't have all the information before you posted. It says if he edited it or not under the post.

I'd just talk to enigma and see if you can grab the 8400 from him. Knowing enigma he'll probably just give it to you or give you a wicked price on it.
