I remember something was attempted to bring PERP back, but it didn't work, so it was just abandoned. This isn't the first time people asked for a PERP revival. Googling "HG perp" shows a thread on this website saying "HG perp coming back" in the announcemets dated the 9th of January this year, 2021.
