HISTORY
 
To catch up on what this is, for those of you who are new to HG, check out Phase 1 (lower management restructure) and Phase 2 (final, upper management restructure & first annual Elections).
 
What's New:
Each year we will bring on new Directors through an annual Elections process by our Staff & Member votes per the Future & Direction Board guidelines. This doesn't mean all our current Directors lose their position or have to re-run, please read carefully below as we've done our best to accommodate current Leadership, while also bringing in new faces for innovation and longevity of the community. Current Directors:
Each Director is given the option to commit to a 2nd year term and remain the same rank. Each person is currently being contacted directly by Colin for a TS3 conversation. Current Directors that commit to a 2nd term will have one additional responsibility, which includes mentoring the incoming elected Director till the end of the active term. The HG Handbook states that Directors may hold a Director position for up to 2-years, we've made it so they are not required to re-run for a position for their second term. Current Directors that commit to a 2nd year and complete their term including successful mentorship of their successor, will be promoted to Senior Director. Senior Directors do not have a term limit. Senior Director is the most prestigious rank awarded in HG Leadership. Current Associate/Assistant Directors:
Current Leadership positions for Associates/Assistants will remain the same, however your position can be subject to change at a later date by the discretion of the newly elected Director with an approval by Chief of Staff. Newly Elected Directors:
Director-Elects will have a new title (TBA) and be mentored by the incumbent Director to learn the ropes.  
HG LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
 
'Council's Board' consists of any Director or higher position either elected or appointed.
'Executive Council's Board' is kept small and nimble to facilitate easier scheduling for meetings.

There will be NO campaigning allowed. Only internal leadership, eg. Staff and higher ranks are eligible to vote. Elected candidates are promoted by leadership-wide majority vote. Requirements to run for one (or more) HG Leadership Council Elected position:
Must be 18+ years of age. One year of commitment. Option to renew for a 2nd-year commitment without having to re-run. Must be an HG Member or higher rank for a minimum or 6 months since your HG Member Promotion thread acceptance date. Clean record (no bans, no derogatory marks, no confirmed abuse reports) Note: Current Staff can run for a Director Position in addition to remaining as a Staff of their respective Division(s). Note: Current Leaders can run for a new Director Position, BUT will be required to step down to Staff within their respective Division(s). A competitive Smash Ultimate tournament for HG! 
The format is double elimination, 1-2-1 bans. 
There will be a winners and losers bracket. Each match will be decided via Best of 3 until finals. Finals will be decided via Best of 5. 
1-2-1 bans mean the first player to ban a stage (decided amongst the players via coin-flip/agreement) will ban one stage, then the opposing player bans two stages, then the first player bans another stage. Thus, each player gets two bans. 
Standard rule-set will be 3 stock, 7 minutes, no items, no hazards. 
Note: Players can choose any rule-set/map they like as long as both parties are in agreement.

On August 8th we will celebrate the 15 year mark since the creation of HellsGamers. We are hosting a very special Community-wide meeting on Discord Voice & Video Chat that starts on August 8th at 5 PM PST, 6PM MST, 7PM CST, 8PM EST. It will last 1 hour and even if you have work or have something planned the next day, at least show up for a few minutes because we will be giving away $1,000+ IN PRIZES!
With each passing year, our family grows, and with that growth brings new and more information that helps shape us as a community! It makes me happy to see people still love to share information, guides, and offer their support and knowledge to people they don't even know, the same way in which I embarked on this journey with just a couple of passionate friends 5 years ago. This community has grown and thrived throughout the years due to this giving nature that has been nurtured through every member of our community. I just want to say "thank you" to everyone that has been apart of this whole journey!
The number of people I've met through HellsGamers, ones that I can call true friends, astonishes me every single time I think about it. Recently, I've been reaching out to old members who haven't been to the site in years (some perhaps 5+ years), and the welcoming vibe that I get from these people, after all these years of not talking, truly warms my heart. It's been fantastic reconnecting, seeing how everyone is doing in life, and one has even put me in contact with someone in the gaming realm that is doing something really cool (stay tuned)!
We are all so proud to be a part of this amazing community that has achieved such a huge milestone. We'd like to take the time to thank the founder of HellsGamers, @Homer. We all appreciate the existence of both the community and the forums thanks to you.
 
We also want to thank every single member that has been a part of the community since the start of its journey. From old members to new, from Members to Board of Directors, you all have given HG a tremendous amount of support and strength to keep it thriving for these 15 years. Thank you for your time, dedication, and love towards HG.
