If you fall because of the shitty platforming in the Source engine and the lag, you have no chance to recover back onto a platform. Fucking nerf that shit, jesus fucking christ. That's how it was before the damage boost, and that's the reason why it's so high now;: to make the players actually use the path laid for them to reach the other side. I would rather have humans take sufficient amounts of damage to be deemed vulnerable by environmental hazards, but not make environmental hazards kill them outright unless they're Kleiner filters. Many players ragequit because they [somehow] can't get past the electrified water part on NPST, and I'm actually with them on how frustrated they feel. Dying on this server isn't fun. It will make you feel like s**t, unless you wanted to die or don't care, then that's different. Dying on an objective map is another whole level of self-hatred and feeling like an idiot, and I don't think we want our new players feeling like that the moment they jump onto our server.
