Biggest issue I have with the new logo design are the horns. Demon horns are curved; those look like spikes, which aren't fitting for what the community's mascot is supposed to be.
The base for the looped ring is also something I think is a bit off. Compared to the original logo where the bases of the ring meet up and close at two different imaginary vanishing points, the points on the new logo don't seem to have an end. They just stop at some point, but there's no indication of their conclusion; they just stop, which makes the loop feel incomplete.
Huge positive for me though is you added spacing between the loop and eyes on the new logo; the eyes on the old logo could definitely use some more negative space to balance out the space inside the loop.
Design-wise, I don't find these two images as attractive for logos - the reason being that in logo design, I believe there needs to be some balance between minimalism and detail. You can't have a logo that's too minimalistic because it would be boring, and you can't have a logo that's too detailed because it wouldn't register well visually.
I think both images make for amazing decals though. They could also make for great mascot logos instead of simplified logos if you can give them text and use more colors than just red.
Same as what I said above. Even without the outline, the image is still too detailed to stand out as a logo. This makes for a great decal, but without the border, it wouldn't do well for a mascot logo.
This stands out more like a logo. Minimal in design, having that smooth faceplate, skull shape and horns, but detailed enough to stand out, with the cuts in the horns, the definition along the cheek bones and forehead, and eyes and nose. Of all the logos you shared so far at the time of posting this, this is the one I like best for a logo. This can even be turned into a mascot with some more definitive details along the horns and face.
